Summary: This EO creates the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Executive Office of the President. The DOGE is charged with advancing the President’s 18-month DOGE agenda by modernizing federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity. It will be led by the USDS Administrator, who is charged with commencing a software modernization initiative, which will include, among other things, promoting interoperability between agency networks. Federal contracts for IT services will likely be impacted based on DOGE recommendations. Agency heads are required to establish a DOGE Team of at least four individuals within their agency.
Timeline: Establishing DOGE teams within 30 days. DOGE will end on July 4, 2026
